QUICK QUOTE – VIEW: DETAILED
This page provides fundamentals on a security and the details on the issuer of the security.
All security details, except the E-Mail and Internet Address, are provided directly from information held at
the stock exchange.

Total Issue
The total number of shares on issue for the security.
Full Year Profit/Market Capitalisation
This is the sum of the two latest half year profit announcements - full year profit only applies to equities.
This information is retrieved directly from the Stock Exchange.
Earnings/Share
Earnings per share is derived by dividing the Full Year Profit by the number of shares on issue.
The currency of the earnings per share is the same currency of the full year profit.
This information is retrieved directly from the Stock Exchange.
Price Earnings Ratio
This ratio indicates the underlying value of a company.
In its most simple form, the PE indicates how many years it will take for the earnings from the shares to equal
to the share price.
PE ratios are calculated as:
Current share price ÷ earnings per share (dividends)
In general, a high PE ratio indicates that investors believe the company has sound growth opportunities, with relatively high quality earning and low risk, hence they are prepared to
accept a lower return. However, PE ratios are only useful as a comparative tool – e.g. to compare the value of companies within the same industry sector, or to compare the value of a
company with the overall value of a whole sector.
NTA/Share
Net Tangible Asset backing.
This figure indicates the wind up value of a company – i.e. if the company ceased trading, this is how much
it would be worth on a per share basis.
Dividend/Share
Dividend per share is the total dividend to be paid divided by the number of shares on issue.
Dividend Yield
This figure tells you how much your shares would earn over a year, expressed as a percentage.
Dividend yield is calculated by:
Total dividend ÷ current market price of a share x 100
The dividend yield changes as the share price varies, meaning it rises as the share price falls and vice
versa. The dividend value is usually historical, but it may be forecast.
Issuer Details
The details for the issuer of the security are displayed as received from the Stock Exchange.
QUICK QUOTE - VIEW: DEPTH
This page shows the depth of the top 15 levels of bids and offers, together with the last 15 trades.
Depth is essentially the supply and demand for stock at various prices and is a key indicator of market
sentiment at any point in time.
Clients who trade on the Direct Broking website are able to view live depth if they have completed an internet
trade in the last 90 days.

Depth refers to the quantity of shares wanted (bid for) and for sale (offered) at each price step, at and below
(bids) and above (offers) the current quotes.
A bid is a commitment to buy a quantity of stock at a maximum price.
An offer is a commitment to sell a quantity of stock at a minimum price.
A trade occurs when a buyer accepts the best (lowest) offer or when a seller accepts the best (highest) bid.
In other words, when the seller lowers his price to meet the buyer’s “bid" or when the buyer raises his price
to meet the seller’s “ask".
The “Quantity" column represents the total quantity of stock bid for or offered at any price.
The “No." column is the number of separate bids or offers at each price which make up the total Volume amount.
The Cumulative Volume, being the total quantity between those bids or offers at any price and the current (best)
bid or offer, can be seen by moving the mouse pointer over the red dot next to the volume figure (outlined in blue).
The “Cond" column on the recent trades indicates special conditions or circumstances of the trade.

QUICK QUOTE – VIEW: CHARTS
This page allows you to view the historic price and volume charts for a selected security. You can then select
the period you wish to view from the “Chart Period" box and the selected chart will be displayed automatically.
The charts currently available are 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, 2 years and 3 years (see insert).
These charts are capital adjusted (adjusted for a change in the capital base of a company) by default, but
you can toggle between adjusted between adjusted and unadjusted by clicking the “Adjusted" check box.

The top area of the chart line represents the price in cents and the bottom area represents the volume.
If a security has not been trading for the full period of the selected chart then the chart will begin with the
first listed date of the security. Therefore, it is possible that two or more charts for different periods will
look identical, expect for the chart title, if the security has been trading for less than the shortest chart
period. For example, if a security has been trading for less than one year then the 1, 2 and 3 year charts will all
look the same.
QUICK QUOTE – VIEW: NEWS
This page allows you to view the announcements issued for the security.
Announcements are issued by the issuer (the company) of the security and are identified by issuer code, not
security code. Therefore, it is possible that announcements listed for a specific security will contain
announcements for other securities which are listed by the same issuer – e.g. TELIZA, HBYIZA and WHSIZA which all both issued
by ABN AMRO Equity Derivatives New Zealand Limited (issuer code: AAD)
All announcements for the current year are displayed initially.
You can display the announcements for a previous year by selecting the required year at the end on the list
of announcements (see insert)
You can click on the announcement headline to view the announcement text.
