MY MENU – MY WATCH LISTS

This page provides you with a summary quote for each security in your watch list.
It provides a convenient means of displaying today's market performance for securities you're interested in.
You can have up to 20 separate watch lists with each watch list having up to 25 securities

The quotes provided on the watch lists are delayed.

Click on the link circled in blue to start a new watchlist

ADD WATCH LIST

This page allows you to add or update a Watch List.

List name
This is the display name for the Watch List

Default
This identifies the watch list that is first displayed when selecting My Watch Lists from the menu.
Only one watch list can be the default. Checking this option removes any default already set on another watch list.

WATCH LISTS

Once you’ve created a list – see “Favourites” circled in blue - you need to add securities to it, so click on the “Add Security” link that’s also been circled in blue.

ADD SECURITY TO WATCH LIST

This page allows you to add/updated securities on your watch list.
You can have up to 25 securities in each watch list and 20 watch lists.

The minimum requirement when adding a security is the 3-letter Security Code, all other fields are optional. However, you can also chose to enter a historical base date, elect to have company announcements for this security emailed to you, and set an email price alert.

Base Date
The base date field is optional.
If no date is entered it will automatically default to today’s date, if today is a market day, or the previous market date.
If a date is entered that is earlier than the date we begin capturing price information for the security then the base date will be changed to the market date we began capturing the price information.

The watch pages provide two views, Today and Baseline.
The base date is used by the baseline view to determine the base price.
The market price (at the end of trading) for the base date is compared against the current market price of the security to show its change in value.

Email Announcements
Clicking this checkbox will result in company announcement alerts for this securities being sent by email to you within 5 minutes of being issued. Email alerts for NZ listed securities comprise the announcement text as issued by the NZX. Email alerts for Australian listed instruments comprise headline text only and a link to the announcement on the ASX website. Note that the ASX may delay access to the announcement.

Please note that delays can be experienced during email delivery and Direct Broking takes no responsibility and cannot be liable in any way for inaccuracies in announcements or failure to deliver announcements within a timely period, due to these being dependent on many factors outside of our control.

Price Alerts
A price alert allows you to specify a condition that, when met, will result in an email being sent to you.
Currently, you can only specify a condition for the trading price of a security.
To load a price alert, select the condition from the drop down list and enter a price (in cents).
The price alert will be triggered when the security trades at the price entered or for the condition selected.

The available conditions are:
NONE – no price alert is set
ABOVE – when the security trades at or above the price entered
BELOW – when the security trades at or below the price entered.

Scheduled Alerts
You can use scheduled alerts to provide you with quotes for individual securities or an entire list to your mobile phone when you want them.
The schedules specify when and how often alerts are to be sent to you.

You can create a schedule for any security in one of your watch lists or for any one of your watch lists.
You can have as many schedules per security or watch list as you like.

To view the schedules for a security, from the security watch list click on “edit” to edit the security.
Any schedules are listed below the Schedule Alerts heading and you can click on the “Add >>” button to add a new schedule.

To view the schedules for a watch list, display the watch list you wish to work with then click “Edit List” at the end of the securities list.
Any schedules are listed below the Schedule Alerts heading and you can then click on the “Add >>” button to add a new schedule.

The following fields are entered to setup a schedule:

Select how often you wish to receive this alert.
Daily - receive an alert every day at the specified time of day
Weekly – receive an alert every specified day of the week at the specified time of day
Once – receive an alert once only on the specified start date at the specified time of day

Time of Day
The time of day for the alert to be sent.

Day of Week
The day of the week for the alert to be sent. Day of week only applies for a Weekly schedule.

Start Date
Specifies the start date for a schedule. When left blank, start date defaults to today.

End Date

When left blank, end date defaults to 1 year from today.

WATCH LISTS

You’re able to set up more than one watch list so simply click on the link circled in blue (“New List”) and follow the prompts.

When the new list has been established you will be able to swap between this list and other lists you have created – see the “List” menu circled in blue.

ACTIONS

To the right of each security in the watch list can appear several graphics and actions.
The purpose of each of the graphics and action is as follows:
[edit] Click this action to edit the watch security. From the edit page you can change watch details or Delete the security from your watch list.
[delete] Click this action to delete the watch security from this watch list.
This graphic indicates you have an un-triggered email price alert loaded for this security. As soon as this price alert is triggered, it is removed from the security and this graphic will no longer appear. You can add, change or delete a price alert at any time using the edit page.
This graphic indicates you have email announcements enabled for this security. When this option is enabled, as company announcements are received for this security, an alert for each announcement is also emailed to you.
This graphic indicates you have one or more scheduled alerts for this security.
